Ace Your Skills at Southlake Tennis Center

We understand that all players must start somewhere, so STC specializes in adult beginner programs. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to making your tennis journey more enjoyable and fun!  Classes are a combination of instruction and coached match play, so you will start playing from the beginning, building confidence along the way.

  • Learn the correct technique using graduated balls/courts to gain skills. Start on smaller courts so you can play the very first week.
  • Each week builds a new skill while reinforcing the previous lesson to create an environment of continuous improvement for all ages/abilities.
  • Enhance your abilities through play-based drills that are match-specific. Drills help players fine-tune their techniques while being assessed by our teaching staff, which allows us to tailor instructions to best serve you. Put your drill-based skills to use through exciting match play.
  • Receive expert coaching in an award-winning facility from PTR certified teaching professionals who have been specifically trained to work with beginning players.

Are you ready to get in the game? Lace up your sneakers, grab your racquet, and let’s make unforgettable memories on the court. It’s time to prioritize yourself, embrace the joy of learning something new, and join the fun community at Southlake Tennis Center!

Level 1 is for adult beginning players who have limited/no experience playing tennis. If you say to yourself, “I will only learn tennis if no one can see me play” this is the level for you!

Level 2 is for players who have had some experience playing competitive tennis, such as playing for your high school. If you say to yourself, “I will only play if the other players are as bad as I am” then this is your level!

New To Tennis is a class where we build skills each week based on what you learned during the previous class, so we strongly encourage you to attend every class.
Please wear comfortable clothing, preferably with pockets or ball shorts so that you can hold more than one ball at a time. Cute tennis clothes are fun for shopping later but are not required.
We recommend athletic shoes that have a flat surface on the bottom. Tennis specific shoes are best, since they have built in lateral support for side-to-side movement.

We will provide a racquet for the first 4 weeks. Players will then have an opportunity to try out racquets in class until they find the right one for them.

Yes! We offer optional 1.5 hour weekly drills mornings, evenings and weekends. The drills are $25.00 each and require advanced registration.
Players are welcome to repeat New To Tennis classes during the next session. When you are ready, we offer New To Tennis leagues as well, which meet once a week for social fun for beginning players.
