Rules for Southlake Tennis Center
Southlake Tennis Center requires the following Rules of Conduct of players while they are using the facility. We are a family oriented public facility, so our rules are designed to make playing tennis fun for everyone.
In general, tennis should be fun! Players who participate in drills, classes and leagues should remain friendly and supportive at all times. Players should not make derogatory or unpleasant remarks to other players, or engage in disparaging talk. In drills and classes, players should be respectful of their instructor and the other participants.
- Tennis specific court shoes with non-marking soles must be worn on the courts at all times.
- Attire must be appropriate for a family oriented facility. Shirts/tops must cover the midriff area, and players must wear shorts/skirts that provide full coverage. Sports bras only are not allowed and players may not remove their shirts while on court.
- Players must be respectful of their opponents and other players at the facility. We appreciate players limiting their comments during play so as not to distract others.
- Players will enter and leave the courts in a manner that does not disrupt active play.
- Players will leave the court when their allotted time is up in a prompt and courteous manner. Players who remain on the courts for more than 15 minutes after their court reservation has expired may be charged for additional court time.
- Players may not use any audible obscenities at any time. The use of an audible obscenity is grounds for removal from the facility.
- Players may not throw objects on the court, or direct objects in an abusive manner towards another player. Racquet or ball abuse are grounds for removal from the courts.
- We ask that players remove all tennis balls and trash from the court prior to leaving.
- We reserve the right to ask players to stop participating in activities when their presence is found to be disruptive to the rest of the group.
Southlake Tennis Center follows the USTA Rule Book, which is known as “Friends at Court.” A copy of the full document can be found online at Friends At Court. More information regarding the rules and regulations for tennis can be found on the USTA website USTA Rules and Regulations
