Summer 2022 JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
STC runs week long summer camps and once a week classes for junior players throughout the summer. We offer instruction for players starting at 5 years old. Players are taught how to play points and games. Skills focus on controlling and directing the ball to help win points. Coaches work on developing the athletic skills, court movement, and basic tennis technique to help in match play at each level. Starting at age 7, when players sign up for weekly practices, they are placed on a team that plays matches on Sunday afternoons.
SUMMER CAMPS
STC offers Summer Camps for players ages 7-14 years old. The camps run Monday-Friday from 9:00 am – 12 noon. There is an option to purchase a snack package and to attend Pizza Friday from 12 noon – 1 pm. Summer camps must be paid at the time of registration and are non-refundable. Southlake Tennis Academy follows the curriculum developed with Evolution Kids, the leading expert in junior development training. We tailor our program to meet the needs of each player, focusing on the skills that need to be acquired by age. Each level has instruction and play to foster a life-long love for tennis.
Movement through Levels
Each age group has multiple levels, so players can advance at their own pace. Each level has a set of skills that need to be mastered in order to move up to the next stage of development. Classes focus on athletic development and technical instruction as coaches work on skill acquisition. All these skills are reviewed each session by our coaching staff. A parent meeting will be held at the beginning and end of each session to discuss class objectives. You will receive a written evaluation at the end of the session.
