About Nathan Byrnes

Nathan was born in Melbourne, Australia and started playing tennis when he was 4 years old. Nathan’s father is a very successful tennis coach in Melbourne where he coached both state and nationally ranked players. Nathan was ranked in the top 5 in the state and in the top 20 nationally as a junior. At 17, Nathan competed in the Australian Junior Open. Nathan won two state championships at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, the site of the Australian Open until it moved to its new home. Recruited by a several U.S colleges, Nathan chose Oklahoma State University and played there as a four year starter. He was part of the most successful men’s tennis team in OSU history, with a national ranking of 8th in the country. The team reached the NCAA Sweet 16’s twice. Nathan won the Big 12 doubles title twice and was an All Big 12 selection 3 times. Nathan was ranked as high a 8th nationally in doubles and competed in the NCAA tournament all 4 years. Nathan has competed on the ITF Futures and Challengers Tour, gaining an ATP ranking.
