About Manuela Santos

Manuela Santos was born and raised in Itajai, Brazil, where she started playing tennis at the age of 3. Maneula was always ranked in the top 10 as a junior player. At 16, Manuela went to the Larri Passos Academy, where she worked with the coach of Gustavo Kuerten for three years. Manuela received a full ride to play at Tyler Junior College, where she played #1 singles and doubles her sophomore year and was named an All American and Player to Watch her freshman year. She received her degree in Health and Kinesiology. Recruited by the University of Northern Colorado, Manuela played #1 doubles and #2-#3 singles. She was an assistant coach for one semester while she finished her degree in Sports and Exercise Science. From January, 2010 to October, 2010 she worked as a tennis pro at the Georgetown Tennis Center in Georgetown, TX.
